Maintenance for Holz ZAB 10

Holz ZAB-10 — Maintenance Checklist

Factory recommended service intervals:
First major service: 500 hours (initial break-in)
Routine major service: every 3,000 hours thereafter (if machine runs <3,000 hrs/year, perform the routine service at least once per year)

DAILY / PRE-SHIFT
☐ Visual: check for leaks, oil smell, unusual noise or vibration
☐ Check oil level (sight glass) — top up only with approved oil if slightly low
☐ Read & verify instruments: discharge pressure, discharge temperature, motor amps/voltage and controller alarms
☐ Drain condensate from receiver / aftercooler / separator drains (if manual)

WEEKLY
☐ Verify condensate drains (auto drains) operate correctly
☐ Inspect piping, hoses and fittings for leaks or corrosion
☐ Check belt/coupling for obvious wear and tension (if belt drive)
☐ Verify coolers/aftercooler and fan operation

MONTHLY / EVERY 3 MONTHS
☐ Clean inlet filter housing area and external cooler fins (monthly)
☐ Every 3 months: remove dust from cooling package and fan; lubricate bearings as required; inspect tubing and electrical board

FIRST MAJOR SERVICE — 500 HOURS (INITIAL BREAK-IN)
Change lubricant oil (first oil change at 500 hrs)
Replace oil filter (first oil filter change at 500 hrs)
Replace air intake filter (initial service)
Safety: Release system pressure and disconnect electrical power before servicing.

ROUTINE MAJOR SERVICE — EVERY 3,000 HOURS
Change lubricant oil (every 3,000 hrs after the first 500 hrs). If machine runs <3,000 hrs/year, change oil at least annually.
Replace oil filter (every oil change)
Replace air intake filter (3,000 hr interval or sooner if dirty)
Replace air/oil separator (oil fine separator) as a consumable at regular intervals (typically with major service)
Note: Oil, filters and separators are consumable parts.

OTHER INTERVALS / NOTES
☐ Check oil level/condition periodically (noting ~2,000-hour inspections as a guideline)
☐ Remove dust from cooling package / fan at 1,000-hour intervals or sooner in dusty environments
☐ Use only the original/approved oil and spare parts; do not mix oils or use unapproved lubricants
☐ When opening the air end or inlet assemblies, block openings and rotate the air end by hand to avoid ingress of impurities

SAFETY / GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
☐ Always stop the machine, release all stored pressure, isolate other pressure sources and disconnect electrical power before opening or servicing the machine.
☐ If safety-valve adjustment is required, have authorized safety personnel or qualified service perform the adjustment.
